If you shut the power down @AEPOhio you owe me some money! It’s not a natural disaster! Go ahead a send “Louie the lightbulb” this way with my cash homie!!!
- Pretty B. 🦋🖤✨ (@OoOSheCold) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
Okay my power NOT being back on til the 16th isn’t sitting well with me at tf all … @AEPOhio y’all have some SPLAININ ta do !!
- Pollo Ralph Lauren (@2426chris) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@AEPOhio doesn’t care about poor or minority areas of Columbus. While the wealthier parts already have an estimated time for restoring power, the other areas they’re “Assessing condition”
- Mounir 🪬 (@MounirLynch) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@AEPOhio you’re gonna start notifying people when you cut off their power first, right? I know you’re not obligated to provide customer service since you monopolize the entire area, but there’s gotta be some lessons learned here?
- Collin ἐγὼ εἰμί 🧦🥑 (@LastByzantine) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
I know the crews are working hard but @AEPOhio it’s not cool that it’s 6 hours and I’ve heard *nothing* about my outage. Map says nothing helpful.
- Jen House (@jenhouse) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@jennybrodie2 @AEPOhio We went and visited friends who had power. Home now, it’s only 80 here 🥵Luckily, my work has power and her daycare does too (she was there today so she wasn’t here when it was heating up). I called begging to get her in tomorrow and they were able to squeeze her in!
- Edible Intelligence (@samvance) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
THE POWER JUST CAME BACK ON @ BROAD MEADOWS BLVD 5:26AMMy groceries are still ruined, but at least I’ll be able to sleep.#columbus Cc @AEPOhio
- Biggs (@theMBiggs) reported fromHilliard, Ohio
@AEPOhio You know what? **** all the way off.
- Nick Walker (@nw3) reported fromBexley, Ohio
@Bryan_Vehonsky @AEPOhio It sounds like this was a planned blackout or they can’t restore power until temps come down?
- Tyler Woodbridge (@woodbridgetyler) reported fromGrove City Country Club, Ohio
If every person affected by @AEPOhio's decision to arbitrarily shut off power without warning were to protest outside their tower downtown, maybe they would think twice before pulling some bullsh*t like this again. Thinking of all the sick, young, elderly, etc. who suffered too
- Rob C (@RobFromSoCal) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@AEPOhio when attempting to check status of outage for me /my neighborhood, I get this. And have been for past hour plus? We're sorry. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. We are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Please try again later.
- Mark Machinski (@FakeWadeBoggs) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@AEPOhio A heads up would have been nice before cutting the power hundreds of thousands of people on intensionally!!!
- charity (@ceb3_) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
Got off 30 minutes late because our outpatient facility has no power again! Had to call 31 people to reschedule important testing. Thanks @AEPOhio !
- USTrademarkLaw (@JoeDreitler) reported fromUpper Arlington, Ohio
@AEPOhio You turned off power Tues 2pm. Back 6 am & now off again. Intentional, really? Incompetent. I’m I’m Nowhere near storm. How long? I’m 71. Don’t have “other accommodations” @GovMikeDeWine
- Gregory P Schenk (@tenantrep1) reported fromUpper Arlington, Ohio
@Bcarp3 @AEPOhio I walked golfing yesterday 9 holes at noon found out it was 109 degree heat index . I had 3 waters and a smoothie before and 2 waters during. Twice thought was going to pass out and on 9 th tee felt like I had never worked out and I work out daily ! Hot hot hot 🥵
- Allison Wiley (@awileyx3) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
Lol and now my power is out again. Seriously **** off @aepohio this is absurd. Can’t handle 90° days? FIX IT NOW
- USTrademarkLaw (@JoeDreitler) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@MitsukiIsMySon @AEPOhio We were 16. On 5 and back off likely until Thursday sometime? You think they ca. supply @intel w power? Right. We will have more of these days. And PUCO does zero for customers
- John Hykes (@jahykes) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
@AEPOhio Hey, we're not shown on the map and still down in Hilliard.
- Dustin Pappalardo (@dustnpappalardo) reported fromLincoln Village, Ohio
I’m not buying the “storms” are responsible for the intentional power outage from @aepohio and shame on @andrewginther for supporting them. We barely had any rain yesterday. I’ll be called a conspiracy theorist now but proven right in six months about this.
- Jen House (@jenhouse) reported fromColumbus, Ohio
Stop calling what @AEPOhio is doing “rolling blackouts.” That’s not what this is. To be a rolling blackout it has to actually move around. They just shut off power to a huge portion of the poorest areas of the city for what sounds like will be DAYS unannounced.
AEP Ohio Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
- elliott (@Adamantiumblue) reported
@CHofferCBus @AEPOhio Shhh bro stop I don’t want my power to go out too
- Julz Dwyer (@jilikoi9) reported
@AEPOhio You can’t cut some power to one area to avoid overloading the lines? You might have seconds to respond but that doesn’t explain why it took 10 hours to notify people after their power was cut
- Clayton M. (@projectaumaan) reported
@AEPOhio you gonna put some of your $16bn in revenue into infrastructure upgrades after this outage is resolved? Putting more than 200k customers in the dark on 90+ degree days is completely unacceptable. Where can I send the bill for the hundreds of dollars in food we've lost?
- delusional gworl (@apieceofnies) reported
@AEPOhio owes me some money. because of the power outage, i can’t work.
- JimStayin (@victors_hail) reported
@AEPOhio Does your CEO have power right now? I’m sure he does
- Joe Pratt (@CoachJoePratt) reported
@CourtneyCSmith3 @pinion921 @AEPOhio Yeah, because even different or independent power companies get their power in Columbus (a lot of areas) from what AEP sells them from the Cardinal Plant I think. Stay safe and try to stay cool, I had to leave my home yesterday cause no power…blah.
- Kenny Drobnack (@supenguin) reported
@thebuckeyeranch @AEPOhio Fans are pretty hard to use with no power!
- Patrick Goldman (@patrick_goldman) reported
Hey @PhillyD , could you look in to the "intentional" power outages perpetrated by @AEPOhio across Ohio, denying over 200,000 homes electricity on some of the hottest days of the year with zero notice? As a fun coincidence, the neighborhoods most severely impacted are of low SES
- Zachary Ireson (@zireson) reported
@JFredOH @AEPOhio 100% this. My father worked the field his entire life and taught me how to work in the fields of Ohio. ALL of Ohio and not once has there been copperhead snakes bad enough to warrant more than a funny beer story that night.
- Luke (@luke_rossiter96) reported
@AEPOhio Thousands of people without power and you’re asses are sitting cozy. Any deaths that happen, be it people or animals, they are on your hands. What a joke of a company. I hope you’re smart enough to not charge people and do something about this incredibly stupid situation.
